I use the term “physical fitness” and “physical” interchangeably all the time. I think it doesn’t really matter what you think it means, but it can be helpful to distinguish between the two to understand exactly what it is we are talking about.

Physical fitness, or physical fitness training, is a way of training people to do certain things at a very high rate of efficiency. Physical fitness involves getting your body to a very high level of efficiency. To do this, you train your body to perform various tasks. People who are physically fit go through specific exercises to burn huge amounts of fat, get toned up, and are able to perform activities that would otherwise be very difficult.

How about the idea that the people who have the greatest physical fitness know it is more important to get them to run, to climb, and to get off of a cliff-side rock-top. How about the idea that they know it is more important to get them to walk, to go to a park, or to take a walk. It’s not something which you can never fully understand.

The idea that “fits-go-through-specific-exercises-to-burn-huge-amounts-of-fat” is a good thing is just as silly as “it’s not something which you can never fully understand.” You can never fully understand what’s going on unless you take a course in “how to get lean” or “how to get ripped.

The thing is, if a person is on the run from a cliff-side rock-top, the whole story is pretty much the same. If you don’t have a good reason to be out on the kill-game, you aren’t going to get a bullet. If you don’t have a good reason to be out on the kill-game, you aren’t going to get a bullet. Just as a rule, you don’t get a bullet in the first place.

Physical fitness is a very subjective thing so it is difficult to say what is “true” or “false” about it. Some people may need a special workout regime, others may not. It is true that a strong body is good for an athlete but the converse is also true. For instance, you can train your body to be strong without going into the gym. So the definition of physical fitness is subjective and can depend on a lot of different factors.

A person with a physical fitness problem is still not fit enough to make the leap from one fitness regime to another. For example, you are still not physically fit enough to stand up and walk around the gym in the event that your body is going to be damaged. This is a huge problem with fitness programs because they do not take into account what you are doing every day. Physical fitness programs are a part of a whole new level of fitness.
