I run 3 days a week at the gym (3 hour sessions), 4 days on the road, and 3 days at home. I train 4-5 days a week for weight training, followed by 3-4 days of cardio.

With two new releases in the pipeline, it’s time to take a look at the latest fitness trends. This week, we’re looking at the latest trend to hit fitness magazines, the jackson training.
Jacksons, the new workout craze from New York City, is a trendy new “fitness” trend that has been sweeping the nation for the past few years. The jackson training is a new, high-intensity version of traditional weight training that involves adding high intensity, interval training to the mix. The training is designed to be done 3 days a week on the bike, 3 days on the elliptical, and 3 days at maximum intensity.
The jackson training includes an aerobic workout and a cardio workout. In a previous post, we talked about getting older and starting to get a bit more into the muscle building stage. This post is about the newest video that shows us, but also about the jackson training.
This video is part of the new “fitness jackson” series and it’s based on a video we’ve seen before. This is the second video to show us the workouts and it’s the first one that uses our bike trainer. It’s pretty damn cool.
First off, it looks like the workouts are pretty intense. They look like they involve lots of running and biking. Its pretty impressive to see the amount of energy that these guys put into it. We would have expected a video like this to be more about some of the workouts, but they appear to be pretty much all about the intense aerobic and cardio portions of the workout. Its pretty clear that this is something that people are going to do more often.
Although it has a serious workout component, the workouts are actually pretty light. Its about as intense as you’ll get on a serious bike trainer without the cardio on the machine. I’m pretty sure that’s the point of this workout. It’s not about the time it takes to do the workout, its about the time you spend on the bike trainer. And yes, the cardio portion of the workout includes “dancing” (yes, we’re serious) and “power walking”.
I found this to be even more important than the cardio portion as I have to watch the video of one of my friends getting up and walking around the city. He didn’t have to try to get up, but I know he did.
You might even find yourself going to the gym more, especially if you’re a male. That’s because women seem to be doing a lot more cardio than men. This is because women are often more active. We can get into all sorts of gender politics in the fitness world, but the bottom line is that you’ll find more women participating in the gym than men.
